If your class is unable to attend the live camp session (or if you prefer the flexibility of video), there will be a recorded version of every lesson available after the live session is complete. The videos will stay on our YouTube channel for two weeks.
CLASS STRUCTURE:
-4 minutes lesson focus, history and examples
-34 minutes step by step drawing (10 minutes on, 2 minute break repeated)
-2 minute wrap-up
-15 minute extension with self-application or further development of the days lesson.
Suggested ages: 8-15 with beginning to intermediate drawing skills.
HOW SUMMER DRAW CLUB WORKS: We have 3 camps in the summer, each lasting four days. One camp in June. One camp in July, One camp in August. They meet from 11-11:55 AM daily M-Th. These sessions are all live. There is no recorded Studio Project during the summer.
Hosts (your institution/facilitator) will be sent a Zoom invite (new each week) to join the live Draw Club session and JPG files to print for students to follow along on the lesson. Please provide an email address you check regularly during checkout so you are sure to receive both the invite and the JPG files
For these sessions, your institution will need:
•A facilitator.
-A reliable internet connection.
•A monitor that can display the live Zoom session and the Studio Project video.
•To print the JPG template(s) you receive for the session.
•A pencil and an eraser (and a ruler occasionally).
•A pen (or preferably two) with indelible ink. One fine tip, and if possible, a second with a bit larger tip to fill in more area (which makes things quicker).
•Colored pencils, markers, or crayons...preferably with 2-3 of each color (ie. light green, medium green, dark green). Simple, low cost colors will work fine.
•A mirror (used occasionally). A photo/selfie can work for this.
Scholastic Sketchers is great for microschools, after-school programs, arts councils, churches, home school collectives, and libraries.
There will be other groups in attendance, and feeds will be muted during the step-by-step portion of the class, with small breaks for questions. Chat will be moderated if you have any questions while muted.
