If your class is unable to attend the live session (or if you prefer the flexibility of video), there will be a recorded version of every lesson available after the live session is complete. The videos will stay on our YouTube channel for two weeks.

CLASS STRUCTURE:

-4 minutes lesson focus, history and examples

-34 minutes step by step drawing (10 minutes on, 2 minute break repeated)

-2 minute wrap-up

-20 minute extension with self-application or further development of the days lesson.

Suggested ages: 8-15 with beginning to intermediate drawing skills.

HOW DRAW CLUB WORKS: Three sessions (per 4-week-theme) are live, step-by-step tutorials. And because students want time to develop their own drawings, the fourth session per month is recorded and can be viewed at their convenience. The recorded session is called Studio Project week. The Studio Project video is posted on YouTube, and outlines an exercise designed to give students freedom to explore, on their own, the techniques they've learned during the previous three weeks. There is also a step-by-step option within the Studio Project video if you want or need extra help applying your skills. The Studio Project video can be played like the live feed for your students.

Hosts (your institution/facilitator) will be sent a Zoom invite (new each week) to join the live Draw Club session and JPG files to print for students to follow along on the lesson. Please provide an email address you check regularly during checkout so you are sure to receive both the invite and the JPG files

For these sessions, your institution will need:

•A facilitator.

-A reliable internet connection.

•A monitor that can display the live Zoom session and the Studio Project video.

•To print the JPG template(s) you receive for the session.

•A pencil and an eraser (and a ruler occasionally).

•A pen (or preferably two) with indelible ink. One fine tip, and if possible, a second with a bit larger tip to fill in more area (which makes things quicker).

•Colored pencils, markers, or crayons...preferably with 2-3 of each color (ie. light green, medium green, dark green). Simple, low cost colors will work fine.

•A mirror (used occasionally). A photo/selfie can work for this.

Scholastic Sketchers is great for microschools, after-school programs, arts councils, churches, home school collectives, and libraries.

Classes are weekly during the school year:

Thursdays at  Noon-12:40PM or 4-4:40PM EST

Fridays at 11:00AM-11:40AM or 1::00-1:40PM or 4:00-4:40PM EST

Classes during the summer months run as once-monthly four-day camps.

Summer Dates: June 22-25, July 13-16, August 10-13

Summer Class Time: 11:00-11:55AM  EST (M-Th)

There will be other groups in attendance, and feeds will be muted during the step-by-step portion of the class, with small breaks for questions. Chat will be moderated if you have any questions while muted.

Photo Waiver: Draw Club takes and receives weekly pictures of student artwork and shares some of them in the email update and on social media for people to see what awesome artists we have. There are no names associated with the pictures. Unless you notify us otherwise (at Toons@GooGenius.com) not to share any photos of your student/art, your purchase of Draw Club classes will be deemed as agreement to let us use screenshots and any other images of your student/artwork, royalty free, in various GooGenius/Draw Club community-building and publicity applications.
