SOCIAL PEOPLE DRAW TOGETHER! Three months Jun-Aug (Summer Semester- 3 monthly four-day camps- 12 sessions total) of Social Sketchers Draw Club (LIVE, online...see list below) to practice some important drawing skills ($9.00/session- for your household). Sometimes it's just nice to have a place to draw and chat without a lot of pressure to get things done in a fixed time frame. If you want a relaxed drawing camp where you can explore your own creativity and share your work with others, this is the best deal you'll find anywhere! Come join us! Wherever you are, we want to draw with you!
Do you have friends that might like to draw in-person together? With four or more students who want to meet up for camp, the Group option at checkout is an unbelievable bargain.
Social Sketchers is Draw Club "lite" for kids who like the social aspect of drawing as much as the drawing itself. Ages 8-18. Class runs 55 minutes and incorporates basic drawing skills into a simple 15-20 minute drawing (drawing hands, color theory, action, perspective...). Draw Club sessions are grouped in four-week themes (see Monthly Themes below).
If you are unable to attend the live session any given week (or if you prefer the flexibility of video), there will be a recorded version of every lesson available after the live session is complete. The videos will stay on our YouTube channel for two weeks. During Studio Project week, you can use the guide video just like the live feed, so if you're in a group, you can still meet as a group and draw together.
CLASS STRUCTURE:
-4 minutes lesson focus, history and examples
-22 minutes step by step drawing (10 minutes on, 2 minute break, 10 minutes on)
-29 minutes of adding our own creative flair, chatting, or trying another drawing
Suggested ages: 8-18 with beginning to experienced drawing skills.
HOW SOCIAL SKETCHERS DRAW CLUB WORKS: Three sessions (per 4-week-theme) are live, step-by-step tutorials. The fourth session per month is recorded and can be viewed at your convenience. The recorded session is called Studio Project week. The Studio Project video is posted on YouTube, and outlines an exercise designed to give you freedom to explore, on your own, the techniques/styles we've been working on during the previous three weeks. There is also a step-by-step option within the Studio Project video if you want or need extra help applying your skills.
You will be sent a Zoom invite (new each week) to join the live Draw Club session and a JPG file(s) to print that will help you follow along on the lesson. Please provide an email address you check regularly during checkout so you are sure to receive both the invite and the JPG files
For these sessions, you will need:
-A reliable internet connection.
•A monitor that can display the live Zoom session and the Studio Project video.
•To print the JPG template(s) you receive for the session.
•A pencil and an eraser (and a ruler occasionally).
•A pen (or preferably two) with indelible ink. One fine tip, and if possible, a second with a bit larger tip to fill in more area (which makes things quicker).
•Colored pencils, markers, or crayons...preferably with 2-3 of each color (ie. light green, medium green, dark green). Simple, low cost colors will work fine.
•A simple set of watercolor paints.
•A mirror. A photo/selfie can work for this.
Social Sketchers is great for anyone that wants to casually learn some new drawing skills while still having time to set their creativity free on the drawing.
Classes are weekly during the school year:

Fridays at 3:00-3:55PM EST
