GET THEM STARTED RIGHT! One week (4 sessions) of Starting Sketchers Draw Club Cartoon Strip Camp (LIVE, online) for your young beginning illustrator(s) ($28.00/camp for the whole household). This camp focuses on graphic storytelling. This class also reinforces social skills with GooTopia®™ characters as our guides. This is a slow-paced class, but parental support may be necessary depending on your child's ability. This is the best deal you'll find anywhere for a drawing summer camp. Come join us! Wherever you are, we want to draw with you!
Check out our Group Pricing. Draw Club can be even more awesome when you draw in groups...so if you have four or more students (with parent) who want to meet up for class, the Group option at checkout is an unbelievable bargain.

- The Rise in Action with Bhaskar Benevolent
- The Climactic Moment with Olympia On-Time
- Studio Project- The Resolution with Deng Deferential
Classes during the summer months run as once-monthly four-day camps.
Summer Dates: July 13-16
Summer Class Time: 12:30-12:55PM EST (M-Th)
Starting Sketchers Draw Club sessions are grouped in simple four-week themes...expressions, character drawing, complimentary colors, shading, animals, objects, buildings, etc. Classes run for 25 minutes and cover a new basic drawing subject every week.
If you/your class is unable to attend the live session (or if you prefer the flexibility of video), there will be a recorded version of every lesson available after the live session is complete. The videos will stay on our YouTube channel for two weeks.
CLASS STRUCTURE:
-3 minutes lesson focus and story excerpt reading.
-22 minutes step-by-step drawing (10 minutes on, 2 minute break)
Suggested ages: 6-8 with no drawing skills needed coming in to class. Students will draw and color on a simple template. Parents/caretakers may need to help their little one (on the same sheet or with their own sheet). Drawing and coloring are a lot of fun to do together and improve your young illustrator's problem solving abilities, introduce them formally to social skills, and prepare them for drawing success later in life.
HOW DRAW CLUB WORKS: Each month is four sessions. Three sessions (per 4-week-theme) are live, step-by-step tutorials. The fourth session per month is recorded and can be viewed at your convenience. The recorded session is called Studio Project week. The Studio Project video is posted on YouTube, and outlines an exercise designed to finish off the month's theme. This gives students and parents/caregivers freedom to explore, on their own, the techniques they've learned during the previous three weeks and develop their own drawing. There is also a step-by-step option within the Studio Project video if you want or need extra guidance with the exercise. Our goal is to encourage drawing, social skills, imagination, creativity and motor skills development. The Studio Project video can be played like the live feed for your students.
Attendees are sent a Zoom invite (new each week) to join the live Draw Club session and JPG files to print to follow along on the lesson. Please provide an email address you check regularly during checkout so you are sure to receive both the invite and the JPG files
For these sessions, you will need:
•An adult (to connect to the session and to support the student if needed)
-A reliable internet connection.
•A monitor that can display the live Zoom session and the Studio Project video.
•To print the JPG template(s) you receive for the session.
•A pencil and an eraser (and a ruler occasionally).
•A black felt tip pen (medium or fine tip)
•Colored pencils, markers, or crayons...preferably with 2-3 of each color (ie. light green, medium green, dark green). Simple, low cost colors will work fine.
Starting Sketchers is great for young children who are are totally new to drawing and for parents/caregivers who want to spark an interest in art in their child.
There will be other students and groups in attendance, and feeds will be muted during the step-by-step portion of the class, with small breaks for questions. Chat will be moderated if you have any questions while muted.
