LET'S DRAW SOMETHING EVEN SUPER-ER! Get a complete school year (September through May) of our Super Sketchers 2 Draw Club (LIVE, online...see list below) and get ready for some drawing fun ($8.00/session- for the whole household). If you want a focused drawing class that will help you understand and execute a specific drawing technique or style, this is the best deal you'll find anywhere! Come join us! Wherever you are, we want to draw with you!
Draw Club can be even more awesome when you draw in groups...so if you have four or more students who want to meet up for class, the Group option at checkout is an unbelievable bargain.
Super Sketchers 2 Draw Club is the second level of our flagship drawing class. It runs 55 minutes and explores a new style/technique every week...a bit more in-depth and faster than Super Sketchers 1. Draw Club sessions are grouped in four-week themes (see Monthly Themes below).
Super Sketchers 2 is great home school students, virtual students and independent/public school students looking for a regular art class to develop their skills. Super Sketchers 2 is the same class as Super Sketchers 1, but for experienced, skilled young illustrators. If you are confident in your drawing ability, this class is for you. If you are just starting out in drawing, we encourage you to start in the slower-paced Super Sketchers 1 class.
If you are unable to attend the live session (or if you prefer the flexibility of video), there will be a recorded version of every lesson available after the live session is complete. The videos will stay on our YouTube channel for two weeks.
CLASS STRUCTURE:
-4 minutes lesson focus, history and examples
-34 minutes step by step drawing (10 minutes on, 2 minute break repeated)
-2 minute evaluation
-15 minute self-application or further development of the days lesson
Suggested ages: 8-15 with beginning to intermediate drawing skills.
HOW DRAW CLUB WORKS: Three sessions (per 4-week-theme) are live, step-by-step tutorials. And because students want time to develop their own drawings, the fourth session per month is recorded and can be viewed at their convenience. The recorded session is called Studio Project week. The Studio Project video is posted on YouTube, and outlines an exercise designed to give students freedom to explore, on their own, the techniques they've learned during the previous three weeks. There is also a step-by-step option within the Studio Project video if you want or need extra help applying your skills. The Studio Project video can be played like the live feed for your students.
You will be sent a Zoom invite (new each week) to join the live Draw Club session and JPG files to print for students to follow along on the lesson. Please provide an email address you check regularly during check out so you are sure to receive both the invite and the JPG files.
For these sessions, you will need:
-A reliable internet connection.
•A monitor that can display the live Zoom session and the Studio Project video.
•To print the JPG template(s) you receive for the session.
•A pencil and an eraser (and a ruler occasionally).
•A pen (or preferably two) with indelible ink. One fine tip, and if possible, a second with a bit larger tip to fill in more area (which makes things quicker).
•Colored pencils, markers, or crayons...preferably with 2-3 of each color (ie. light green, medium green, dark green). Simple, low cost colors will work fine.
•A mirror (used occasionally). A photo/selfie can work for this.
Classes are weekly during the school year:
Thursdays at 9:00-9:55AM or 2:00-2:55PM EST
Fridays at 3::00-3:55PM EST
Classes during the summer months run as once-monthly four-day camps.
Summer Dates: June 22-25, July 13-16, August 10-13
Summer Class Time: 11:00-11:55AM EST (M-Th)
