DC Super Sketchers Week 35 (May 18/19): Children's Book Illustration

Children's books are easy right? WRONG! They may seem like low hanging fruit, but there area ton of rules you have to follow to make a successful children's book. We'll learn about them and attempt to write and draw out our very own in rough draft form together! A future Caldecott Medal winner could be right here in Draw Club!

Suggested ages: 7-15 with beginning to moderate drawing skills.

Participants will be sent a Zoom invite to join their Draw Club session and PDF files to print to follow the lesson. Please provide an email address you check regularly during check out so you are sure to receive both the invite and the PDF files

For this session, students will need:

•A computer or tablet to access the Zoom session.

•The PDF(s) you receive for the session printed before the session starts.

•A pencil and an eraser.

•A pen (or prefereably two) with indelible ink. Fine tip for the first, and if you have a second with a bit larger tip to fill in more area, that would make things quicker.

•Colored pencils, markers or crayons

Photo Waiver: Draw Club takes weekly pictures of a handful of the student artwork and shares them in the email update and on social media for people to see what awesome artists we have in Draw Club. There are no names associated with the pictures. Unless you notify us otherwise (at Toons@GooGenius.com) not to share any photos of your student/art, your purchase of Draw Club classes will be deemed as agreement to let us use screenshots and any other images of your student/artwork, royalty free, in various GooGenius/Draw Club community-building and publicity applications.
